Finally, I must choose soprano - Victoria de los Ángeles- everything she ever sang.I was looking at Spanish repertoire for my recital recording ¡Pasión! and I listened to "The Maiden and the Nigtingale".Her singing has a clarity and purity which I love.I'm really not interested in singers who announce how great they are.I'm interested in those who get out of the way and serve to the text. There's an abandon and directness about her that speaks to me and which teaches me: her simplicity is perfect for the medium of song.
Joyce Didonato
“Victoria de los Ángeles, who did everything well, who pronounced perfectly the languages in which she was singing, without a hint of an accent, was endowed with perfect musicianship. Victoria is one of the singers that always was a guide during the years of my studies, and I regard her as a model for the purity of her voice, for her way of making music, without any concession. She was not a lied singer, she was the lied in person. She and Schwarzkopf were the top, very different in their approach, but both extraordinary.”
Bernarda Fink
"I feel very near to Butterfly. She has given me much, much more than the pleasure of singing. I’ve had that marvellous and permanent feeling of a role through which I can project myself."
Victòria dels Àngels
"For a singer, poetry is sheer richness because of the symbols and the images. Every time you sing, you must enter a world of symbols: you’re living in a world of poetry."
Victòria dels Àngels
"Public loves me perhaps more as a person than as a singer, and to me that means the most."

This idea is that of one of the most good, sincere and humble persons in the human aspect and with a perfect musicality and diction in the musical one.”
