Victoria de los Ángeles was one of the most legendary singers of the 20th century, and one of the most acclaimed sopranos in some of the best opera houses in the world. She was one of the most popular singers at the Gran Teatro del Liceo, where she made her debut, and also at the Metropolitan in New York, where she sang for a decade. She was also one of the most admired singers on the European and Spanish music circuit, where she gave historic recitals, many of which have been immortalised in recorded anthologies.
