Soprano Elsa Dreisig and pianist Romain Louveau will be replaced by soprano Miah Persson and pianist Magnus Svensson. The replacement is due to Elsa Dreisig’s advanced stage of pregnancy, and the Foundation would like to sincerely thank the new performers for their availability to join the project, thus maintaining the high artistic standard planned and strengthening the dialogue between music and the visual arts.
The recital will take place on April 19, 2026 at 7:30 PM at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, as part of the 2025–2026 LIFE Victoria season, a series promoted by the Fundació Victoria de los Ángeles.
The programme, entitled Dreams Made of Light, is inspired by the intimate and silent universe of the Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi, the subject of the exhibition Hammershøi, the Eye That Listens at the Thyssen. In this context, the recital offers a journey through Nordic repertoire, in keeping with the poetic and contemplative atmosphere of his work.
Soprano Miah Persson and pianist Magnus Svensson will perform songs by composers such as Wilhelm Stenhammar, Gösta Nystroem and Jean Sibelius in the first half, while the second will include works by Emil Sjögren, Ture Rangström and Edvard Grieg, offering a broad panorama of Scandinavian Lied from the late 19th to the early 20th century. Persson made her LIFE Victoria debut in 2023 alongside Joseph Middleton, while Svensson did so in 2017 in a memorable recital with Iréne Theorin in 2027.
With this proposal, LIFE Victoria consolidates its commitment to Lied as a genre and to creating experiences that go beyond the traditional concert, in keeping with the legacy of Victoria de los Ángeles, the figure to whom the series pays tribute, and it strengthens the collaboration with the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, initiated last December with the recital by Fleur Barron and Kunal Lahiry in connection with the exhibition Warhol, Pollock and Other American Spaces.
